Cozy Hand Knit Shawl, created by Barb, SwT Board Member

This triangular hand knit shawl is made from a hand dyed 100% superwash merino wool called Merino Mono by Happy Fuzzy Yarn based out of Ann Arbor, Michigan. The designer, Riin Gill (for Happy Fuzzy Yarn) writes “I have a fondness for triangles and thought ruching would give visual interest as well as extra warmth.”

The piece can be worn tightly around the neck or more loosely around the shoulders.  The finished measurements are 58″ by 48″ by 34″.  For interested knitters, I used 3 skeins (approximately 900 yards) and knit on a US #5 circular needle.  The pattern called “Caterpillar Girl” is listed on Ravelry.

Value Based on the retail cost of the 3 skeins of yarn used to knit the scarf was $90:
Retail Value: $175.00
