Farmington, MI – Stand with Trans, a non-profit dedicated to supporting families of youth in transition, is pleased to announce the expansion of its Therapy Assistance Program (T.A.P.) to residents of Florida. Launched in 2023, T.A.P. provides trans-affirming mental health care for transgender and non-binary youth aged 13-24.

Initially serving California Bay Area, Michigan, Utah, and Wyoming, T.A.P. will now extend its services to Florida, thanks to the generous support from Adam Lambert’s Feel Something Foundation.

”When I launched the Feel Something Foundation in 2019, one of the main goals was to be able to offer real, practical support to the outstanding LGBTQ organizations that make a positive impact on the lives of queer people every day.” says founder, Adam Lambert. “We are thrilled to be giving Stand with Trans a grant, which will allow them to expand these critical services into an entirely new region of the country for young people to access.”

Amidst setbacks for transgender rights, Stand with Trans remains committed to being a valuable resource in creating change and hope for those seeking to transition. Alarming statistics from The Trevor Project in 2022 revealed that 65% of LGBTQ youth in Florida seeking mental health care were unable to access it. Recognizing the barriers to transgender health care, including a lack of knowledgeable providers and discrimination, the organization ensures its Therapy Assistance Program offers trained and vetted mental health providers specializing in the trans community.

Stand with Trans expresses sincere gratitude to its supporters including Healthcare Advocates International, MGM Resort Foundation, and Pye Harris Legacy Foundation for their commitment to the success of the Therapy Assistance Program.
