Farmington, MI – This Valentine’s Day weekend, join Stand with Trans as they host their 9th annual Share the Love event on February 10, 2023, from 5-8pm. Started in 2016, this family fun evening held at Orchard United Methodist Church (30450 Farmington Rd, Farmington Hills, MI 48334), provides a safe space for transgender youth and their loved ones to come together and have some fun for all ages. The event features activities such as face and nail painting, video games, movies, build your own taco station, and more.

“It’s so important for our community to have an event such as “Share the Love” that is committed to bringing families in the area together. Every LGBTQ+ youth and young adult deserves a safe space to celebrate their identity among their loved ones and peers. We are able to create this affirming space by offering these incredible in-person events that recognize trans individuals and the need for support, which is the mission behind Stand with Trans.” says Program Manager, Lev R. Levett.

The Disability Resource Group will be providing families the chance to receive Covid-19 and Flu vaccinations at no cost administered by DocGo. Those who receive a vaccination onsite qualify to receive a gift card for up to $25 while supplies last.

Stand with Trans Executive Director, Roz Keith, says that “Access to care has been an on-going challenge that the trans community faces. Events like Share the Love bring awareness to our organization as we aim to provide valuable resources to the trans community including our Trans Lifeline Library, Therapy Assistance Program, and 17 support groups.”

The Share the Love event is free but pre-registration is required. Families of trans youth, teens and young adults can sign up by going to https://bit.ly/Sharethelove24.
