Hello!

LGBTQ2S+ researchers at the University of Michigan’s School of Social Work in collaboration with LGBT Detroit are inviting LGBTQ2S+ adults in Detroit and surrounding areas to participate in a research study, “Your Voice Matters.”

We aim to gather insights on the strengths, challenges, and service needs of  LGBTQ2S+ individuals in the area, helping us improve local services.

Adults (18+) who currently live in Detroit or a surrounding area and consider themselves to be LGBTQ2S+ are eligible to participate. A flier with additional information is attached, and the link to the survey is:

Would you be able to share information about this survey at your organization via social media or another method (e.g., bulletin board)? Flyers and social media posts can be found here in this open Google Drive. We are happy to mail/hand deliver physical flyers if desired.

This study is approved by the University of Michigan IRB (HUM00275491).

The drawing for the gift card will be on Sept 15 (the survey closes at 1145 PM on Sept 14th).

Thank you for your consideration. I am happy to answer any questions!

In community,

“When I dare to be powerful — to use my strength in the service of my vision, then it becomes less and less important whether I am afraid.” – Audre Lorde

The University of Michigan resides on the traditional Territories stewarded by the Anishinaabeg (including the Ojibwe, Odawa and Potawatomi), along with their neighbors the Seneca, Delaware, Shawnee, and Wyandot nations. As we meet, work, and learn on this land, we must acknowledge a painful history of genocide and forced removal from this territory. We must also actively work towards achieving the right of Indigenous peoples to govern themselves, preserve their culture, and control their own lands and affairs.
