My name is Noelle Martin (they/them), and I am a PhD student in the ecological/community psychology program at Michigan State University. I am seeking two groups of participants for this research study. First, I am seeking participants who identify as transgender or nonbinary, are between 16 and 24 years old, and have a sibling with whom you have shared your gender identity. Secondly, I am seeking cisgender participants who have a sibling who identifies as transgender or nonbinary and are between 16 and 30 years old. The purpose of this research study is to explore supportive sibling relationships between trans and nonbinary young people and cisgender siblings. In this study, participants will attend focus groups to discuss their perceptions of supportive sibling dynamics and behaviors. If you are interested, please complete the screening survey with the link available here: https://bit.ly/3Js53bQ
People who meet study qualifications will then be asked to complete an additional demographics survey and take part in a 2-2.5 hour focus group. Participants will be paid $50 for their time via a virtual gift card.
