Ask the Expert
Stand with Trans periodically hosts “Ask the Expert” sessions on Facebook Live with legal, medical, and social justice experts who speak to issues and topics that matter to transgender youth and the parents of trans kids. Be sure to follow us on Facebook for future events.
Dr. Antonia Caretto, Ph.D.
is a fully licensed Clinical Psychologist who spoke on the importance of therapy and finding the right therapist to help transgender youth in their transition journey.
Jay Kaplan
has been the staff attorney for the ACLU of Michigan’s LGBT Project since its founding in 2001. In his Ask the Expert, Jay spoke on LGBTQ+ civil rights leading up to the Aimee Stephens Supreme Court case.
Dr. Allison Rodgers
spoke on starting a family as a transgender person and infertility issues in her “Ask the Expert” session.
Dr. Daniel Shumer
a pediatric endocrinologist, spoke on gender-affirming hormones and puberty blockers, and how to receive care during Covid-19.
