2025 Trans Empowerment Month
Love Transcends

Stand with Trans proudly announces its sixth annual Trans Empowerment Month this October. The 2025 theme, Love Transcends, celebrates the strength, creativity, and resilience of transgender and non-binary youth through a wide variety of virtual workshops, panels, and performances designed to uplift, affirm, and inspire.

From October 6th through October 30th, participants from across the nation will gather for nearly a month of connection, education, and joy.

New Queer Youth Nutrition (QYN – pronounced “keen”) Program

With the help of a “Healthy Community Zones” (HCZ) grant from the MDHHS, Stand with Trans is launching an exciting new program! Our Queer Youth Nutrition (QYN – pronounced Keen) program is intended to help provide meal prep how-tos, meals and nutritional knowledge for queer youth (13-24) and their loved ones who live or attend school in the city of Detroit.

As we gear up to start this program, we will be running focus groups to hear from those who are interested in participating about what specifically they would like to see as a part of it. If you are interested in making your voice heard and directing this program to be what you’re looking for, fill out the screener here.

Join Us – Stand with Trans – Annual Family Picnic

Sunday, August 10, 2025 from 12:00pm – 4:00pm ET.

All are welcome.

Join Stand with Trans for the return of our annual family picnic! For 10 years, the Stand with Trans Family Picnic has been the heart of our community — a joyful, in-person tradition that brings together trans youth, families, and allies from across Metro Detroit and beyond. While much of our programming has shifted online since COVID, this gathering remains a powerful reminder of the importance of connection, visibility, and celebration.

We’ll have free food, games, activities, giveaways, and plenty more to engage and delight the whole family! Come out and enjoy a fun, affirming afternoon with your community. This event is open to all ages, and we’re aiming to make this our biggest and most joyful picnic yet.

Please note: The park does not allow dogs or alcohol on-site.

We can’t wait to see you there — let’s celebrate 10 years of community, pride, and resilience together!
