Stand with Trans proudly announces its fifth annual Trans Empowerment Month this October. The 2024 theme, “Beyond the Binary,” promises an array of dynamic virtual workshops, panels, and performances designed to uplift and inspire transgender and non-binary youth.

October 1st through October 30th will mark a month of education, resilience, and community as participants from across the nation join in this one-of-a-kind event. With this being an election year, the rhetoric surrounding trans people, especially transgender youth, is more critical than ever. In recent years, we’ve witnessed an alarming surge in legislation aimed at undermining the rights of trans young people. This is not just a matter of policy—it’s about the real lives and futures of our kids.

Roz Keith, Executive Director of Stand with Trans, emphasizes the importance of this year’s theme, “In a world where trans youth face unprecedented challenges, including systemic discrimination and mental health crises, it’s vital that we create spaces where they can feel seen, heard, and empowered. Trans Empowerment Month: Beyond the Binary brings together real issues, real conversations, and real people. Attendees will walk away feeling hopeful and supported.”

This year’s event will feature an impressive lineup of speakers, including but not limited to:

  ●    Schuyler Bailar (he/him) – Educator, Author, Advocate, and the 1st trans athlete on an NCAA D1 men’s team

  ●    Lé DePriest – Actor, Writer, Comedian, Host, Educator & Advocate

  ●    Tony Ferraiolo (he/him) – Director of Youth and Family Programs, Healthcare Advocates International

  ●    Jeffrey Marsh (they/them) – Bestselling Author, Viral TikTok and Instagram Star, Nonbinary Activist, and LGBTQ Keynote Speaker

  ●    Mila Jam (she/her) – Pop Icon and Artivist

  ●    Sander Jennings (he/him) – LGBTQ+ Ally and Activist

Beyond the Binary offers a full spectrum of programming accessible online, allowing participants to engage with the content that resonates most with them.
Whether it’s navigating boundaries with Dr. River Farrell or exploring self-advocacy with Ean Ashford, attendees can expect to leave each session empowered
and equipped to thrive.

Dubbs Weinblatt, the program coordinator for Trans Empowerment Month says, “As a nonbinary trans person who came out later in life, this programming
aimed specifically for trans and nonbinary youth is a crucial way to send the message you belong. Even if you are a parent or caregiver, an adult ally or older
trans/nonbinary individual, there’s a session for you! We want to build community through learning, entertainment, stories and shared experiences.
We’re all in this together!”
