WPATH

WPATH, or the World Professional Association for Transgender Health, is a worldwide organization that sets treatment guidelines for transition-related healthcare. While some have critiqued WPATH in the past for requiring trans folks to jump through hurdles to prove their trans-ness (also referred to as gate-keeping), WPATH has created a path to treatment for minors and many folks who are not able to access informed consent options.
